My name is Jan Sumner and I've been blessed enough to have been self employed for the past
36 years owning an insurance inspection company, Colorado Inspection Service LLC. In 2000 I wrote my first book, Fat Pitch - My Six Seasons With The Colorado Rockies, after finishing up throwing batting practice for them from 1993 through 1999. It's an historical and insightful look behind the scenes of the Rockies from their beginning in 1993 through their first five years at Coors Field.
Then came Legacy of a Monarch, the biography of Byron Johnson, the grandson of a slave and an All-Star shortstop for the Kansas City Monarchs. With a foreword by President Bill Clinton and an introduction by Don Baylor, it's a touching and courageous journey through American history.
Seams came next. A baseball novel starting in the 1920's tracking one man's improbable life changing journey from the farmlands of Missouri to the World Series.
A good old fasion western was next, Eli Cooper - A Saga Of The Old West. A young boys life is forever changed when he sees his father gunned down and his obsession to find the killers, which leads him to an unwanted life as a hunted gunslinger.
These plus the rest of my books, Veto, If You Come To A Bridge, You've Gone Too Far (a funny look at 36 years of insurance inspections), Jack Zane - Evil At Storm Lake and Face to Face With Sports Legends can be found on my website – Jansumner.com or JaDanpublishing.com
