A Short Bio:
M.J. Moores began her career as an English teacher. After 10 years her dissatisfaction with the internal politicking, and the birth of her son, brought her to a crossroads: she decided to be a stay-at-home mom until her son was old enough to attend school full time. After dedicated herself to her child in that first year, she yearned to return to her roots and picked up the dredges of her first manuscript to overhaul it like never before.
After a year of re-writing, editing, attending workshops, conferences, and critique groups M.J. learned a lot about the self and traditional publishing world. On this journey she compiled her notes and put together the e-book Publicizing Yourself: A Beginner’s Guide to Author Marketing, became a frequent contributor to the online writers magazine Authors Publish, wrote an e-book for the magazine called How to Publish Your Book: A Practical Guide to the Publishing World, had an essay on The Believability Factor in Fiction published in a new writers guide called The Writing Spiral with Sunshine in a Jar Press, and started her own new and emerging writers resource blog called Infinite Pathways... all while raising an infant/toddler.
M.J.’s debut science fiction novel Time’s Tempest: The Chronicles of Xannia, Book One is now available in print and e-book through the small publisher GWL, based out of Britain. Her book can be found at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other online retail outlets. M.J. is currently working on a second e-book for Authors Publish Press focusing on how best to utilize Goodreads in your author and book publicity as well as penning book two in the Chronicles series and book one of a new urban paranormal fantasy for NaNoWriMo. Her goal is to have 3-4 fiction novels published by October 2015 and be able to support herself as a writer and editor.
