Author bio:
Burt Berlowe is an award-winning author and journalist living in Minneapolis. He has authored seven books, including two in the compassionate rebel series.
After receiving a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Arizona he has worked as a newspaper reporter and editor, freelance magazine writer and radio talk show host, as well as a community organizer, peace educator and social change activist.
The two compassionate rebel books have both been honored with regional and national awards. The current book is scheduled to be adopted to a public television documentary and is being used as a text in academic institutions. Reviewers have praised the book: one calling it “a humanitarian
masterpiece.”
Berlowe specializes in writing the previously untold stories of ordinary people who are changing the world. His compassionate rebel books are dedicated to Generation Next, as he calls them, the young people who will determine the future of our society. The hope is that they will use the compassionate rebel stories as examples of how average citizens can build a better world. He follows the motto that “whoever tells the stories defines the culture,” that stories have always been powerful catalysts for change and for bringing people together in community – that stories can, in fact, change the world and that each and all of us can play a role in making that happen.
